The Dragon Boat Festival

节分端午自谁言，

万古传闻为屈原；

堪笑楚江空渺渺，

不能洗得直臣冤。

Who first said the Dragon Boat Festival began?

They told from age to age: It's for Qu Yuan.

How vain the vast River Chu flows far and near!

It cannot cleanse the loyal minister's foul wrong clear.

None knew 'twas fresh litchis brought mile on weary mile.

罗浮山下四时春

Beneath Mount Luofu, eternal spring reigns fair, 

卢橘杨梅次第新

Loquats and bayberries ripen in their turn. 

日啖荔枝三百颗

If I could eat three hundred lychees each day, 

不辞长作岭南人

To live here for ever I would not mind.

次第：依次，一个接一个地

啖：吃

不辞：不拒绝，愿意
