跟读心得日记：

1、We try to keep our costs as low as we can and we think we provide very good value for money.（C17 Test3 Part2第13句）

good value for money, 物超所值，物有所值，非常有用的一个短语。

2、They'll be given breakfast in the morning and, in the afternoon, a healthy snack as soon as they finish school.（C17 Test3 Part2第17句）

这句话种，有一个非常重要的英语现象，就是在英语口语中，并不一定需要一个完整的句子结构，比如这句话的后半部分，用来表述在下午供应什么东西给孩子吃，就用了非常简略的表达，一个时间，in the afternoon, 然后一个名词短语 a healthy snack。后面的as soon as 只是一个状语补足语。

3、At 5 p.m.children are given something more substantial, such as pasta or a casserole.（C17 Test3 Part2第18句）

我以前也认识substantial这个单词，但一直不知道怎么用，过去仅有的认知也局限于其做形容词表示大量的，比如substantial evidence。今天跟读这句话发现，substantial还可以表示餐食的丰富度。

另外跟读这句话，还学到了两个新的西方食物的单词，一个时pasta 意大利面，另外一个casserole表示是用炖锅煮的菜。我现在越来越觉得，衡量一个人外语水平最重要的一个标准就是能否在老外餐厅里面自如的点菜。反正我现在到了国外的餐厅，感觉像看天书一般，根本不知道每个菜谱名称代表的是什么菜。

4、It will also feel different because they'll get the chance to make new friends with children from other schools – spaces are available for them because a lot of our term-time children don't always attend during the holiday.（C17 Test3 Part2第22句）

跟读这句话，让我学到一个非常有用的表达term-time表示在学期中，以前我是不知道应该怎么样简单的表达这个时间段，跟读这句话一下子就明白了。学期中就是term-time，而学校放假期间就是school holiday。
