跟读改变命运——雅思跟读第171天

跟读内容：跟读的是C17 Test3 Part4的第13句-第23句

跟读心得日记：

1、今天白天陪家人去医院了，所以只有晚上读了；

2、These assumptions are understandable given that this pair of species are similar in shape, but are a classic example of an incorrect interpretation based on correct observations.(C17 Test3 Part4第13句)

跟读这句话，主要有三个点想分享一下：

第一个就是 given that 这个从句结构，意思时考虑到。。。情况，一般用在句首，做状语从句。

第二个就是老外有时候在单复数上其实也是糊涂的，比如这句话this pair of species 后面到底应该时用are还是is？还有but are a classic example是不是应该修改为 is a classic example, 所以跟读这句话，让我觉得未来在英语表达时，如果偶然混淆了are 或者is，其实也问题不大。

第三个就是用英语学到了一个有用的人生道理，即使是确凿无误的现实现象，也不必然导致总结和思考的正确。或者说要正确的区分观点和事实，我们可以观察到事实，但基于该事实，产生的观点可能是完全错误的。

表示奇特，奇怪的单词，除了strange，还有weird和bizarre等，weird强调神秘、不可思议或超自然的离奇古怪。bizarre侧重于事物在风格、外观或行为上的奇特、不寻常。

4、This was a truly defining moment in the history of ornithology because it was the first evidence that storks spend their winters in sub-Saharan Africa.(C17 Test3 Part4第20句)

这句话中，主要有三个单词，我觉得对我来说比较重要，一个就是defining，作为形容词，表示具有决定意义的；而ornithology则是一个专业术语，表示鸟类学，第三个词sub-Saharan，用来描述Sahara以南的地区。

5、People gradually became aware that European birds move south in autumn and north in summer, but didn't know much about it until the practice of catching birds and putting rings on their legs became established..(C17 Test3 Part4第22句)

在这句话中，有一个非常有用且重要的表达，the practice of sth established 表示一个什么做法或者方法建立了，成型了。
